I’ve spent the summer holed up in my studio so it’s time to come out! I’ll be selling my wares next week at the plaza St-Hubert street sale in partnership with Senthé. It’s the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun by shopping outside and to discover a cozy teashop.
The Nature Imprint products are now available at Sonia Imbeault’s store in my neighborhood!
Flowers, sunshine, good coffee and a nice breeze. Everything I need!
Etsy shop updated! All of the framed tiles currently available are now live online. Follow the link in my profile to check them out!
Sunday is a perfect day for cleaning out my worktable and oiling all my tools. I’ve switched places in the studio back in February and the setup is finally coming together nicely. It makes me happy to care for the space when it’s both functional and pretty.
I am so stocked with what came out of the kiln! I was doing a special order for @femmemecaniquedesigns over the last few weeks and working with materials and finishes I was unfamiliar with. All the tiles came out great and are exactly 10 cm squares!
Nature Imprint will be at the Etsy event in Ottawa this September! I’ve decided to focus on production and I’ll only attend few events this fall and this might be the only time I drive out to Ottawa this Fall and Christmas so don’t miss out!
I don’t usually post twice in the same day, but I don’t like being negative for very long so I made myself some tea and though about how lucky I am to have year-round free access to running water and the ability to follow my passions and work as a ceramist. These pieces are halfway through the glazing process and will go in the kiln along with a few tests and a custom order later today. I am crossing my fingers, like always.
I am so sad this morning. The mature trees that always brought a smile to my face during my daily bike ride to and from the studio have all been cut down. City officials say we have to plant more trees to combat heat islands in the city and then do the exact opposite. We have enough space in this city, will all the barely used back alleys and empty grassy areas, to create cool areas almost everywhere but I don’t know if it’ll happen anytime soon.
Monday. Time to work! I saw this ad for Montreal’s Ecomuseum over the week-end and I think its genius.
Here I am in the middle of summer and already preparing for Christmas! I am really excited to be part of the Rising Star section this year and to be there for the entire 11 days of the show. Maybe this time I’ll be able to plan a few outings and get to know a little bit more about Toronto.
I’ve unmolded the birch branch oil bottle shape today! It looks like a success. I still have a lot of work to do until they are ready to be released but so far its looking good.
Printing some more plants today
One of the reasons I love summer! I can’t print these because they are too voluminous, but I can admire them.
Back in the studio after a relaxing week-end and making more botanical prints.
