About the artist

The Nature Imprint collection was born from a desire to step back from our fast-paced way of life and take the time to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

Geneviève Gallant, a ceramic artist based in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, creates under the name Nature Imprint. Her work—everyday objects such as mugs, bowls, and vases—reflects her deep connection to the natural world.

Each piece is handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail. Geneviève often incorporates real plant impressions or designs created from stencils inspired by her original drawings. Nature Imprint’s timeless creations seek to capture the essence of flora and landscapes while placing great importance on the functionality of each object.

Nature Imprint tableware is made from Canadian clay, primarily porcelain, and fired to 1,222°C (2,232°F). All pieces are dishwasher safe.

Nature Imprint collections are available online and through a selection of partner retailers.

Meet Geneviève

Genevieve is the artisan, designer and all-hats-wearing person behind Nature Imprint. She enjoys working with her hands and the millions of textures and color combination pottery can offer. She has ambitions of growing an indoor tropical garden out of her studio.

Sustainability Practices at Nature Imprint

While pottery is non-renewable, we strive to reduce our impact by focusing on sustainable practices and thoughtful design. Each item is crafted with durability in mind, ensuring it can withstand the test of time and daily use. By creating pieces that are both functional and timeless, we aim to encourage a culture of mindful consumption, where objects are cherished and valued rather than replaced.

At our studio, we implement several measures to mitigate the environmental impact of our pottery production:

  • Small Batch Production: All our ceramics are produced on demand in small batches, ensuring no excess inventory is created.
  • Eco-Friendly Packaging: Our packaging is made from renewable materials, including paper, cardboard, and cornstarch packing peanuts.
  • Waste Reduction: We recycle all clay scraps in the studio, repurposing them into new creations to minimize waste.
  • Electric firing: We fire in an electric kiln. Since all our electricity in Quebec is produced from hydroelectricity, the energy impact of our studio is minimal and the CO2 released from firings is negligible.

By choosing Nature Imprint, you support practices that reflect our commitment to quality craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.
